Founded in 2010, Prentice Hospitality Group (PHG) is focused on the operation of a diverse group of hospitality businesses. While some hospitality groups focus on building the same thing over and over, we focus on building a variety of unique top-tier establishments.

Our success is in large part due to the leadership team’s insistence on recruiting top tier team members and encouraging and supporting creative visions with a nimbleness not often seen.

Coupled with a strong foundation of back office talent and support, PHG continues to work with its parent company, The Prentice Organization, to seek out, develop and operate best in class opportunities with incredible talent from within.

In 2014 PHG was awarded the Maine Family Business award for outstanding First Generation Business.

Acquired in 2010, this historic property – and the rest of the charming Maine island – was brought back to life and into the Portland zeitgeist. Chebeague Island Inn’s reputation now precedes it, with countless coverage in national publications across a range of platforms like Bloomberg Business, Forbes, The Robb Report, Martha Stewart Weddings, Travel + Leisure, and annual rankings in the top 10 hotels in the region, a top 500 hotel in the world and a top 5 Reader’s Choice New England designation by Condé Nast.

A Casco Bay landmark, Portland’s iconic House Island is the nautical threshold into the city’s picturesque harbor. Now home to both luxurious accommodations and event venues, the private island estate boasts bay vistas in every direction and stunning views of the Old Port and its hallmark lighthouses. Owned and managed by the Maine Harbor Club, overnight and event guests are welcome throughout the year

58 Culinary is a catering company led by acclaimed chefs Matt Ginn and Colin Wyatt, and is a part of the Award-Winning Prentice Hospitality Group which includes Chef-driven concepts such as Evo, Chebeague Island Inn, Marina Bar and TWELVE.

As each restaurant is individually crafted and conceptually unique, so is each event - created with care and attention to detail, unlike anything that has happened before or will happen again. Working with clients to create the culinary world they envision, at the high level we hold ourselves to.

From Chef Matt Ginn, Evo puts an unconventional twist on the traditional.  Opened in 2015, Evo consistently wins both formal accolades and local fans through its eclectic style of Mediterranean infused Maine dishes, featuring the best local Maine produce, fish, and meat, and is consistently recognized as one of the Top 3 restaurants in Portland, Maine.

Scheduled to open in early Summer of 2022, TWELVE restaurant is pure Maine – serving transportive, bold flavors evocative of the Maine landscape, using a diverse mix of locally sourced and foraged ingredients. TWELVE channels Maine’s microseasons and the rhythmic cycles of nature, providing diners with a unique culinary experience that is both modern and familiar.

The Maine Classic Car Museum showcases a finely curated collection of motorcars from the golden age of motoring. The museum was founded on the belief that classic cars drive (pun intended) a larger story about our history, our culture, our politics, and our way of life. The museum is a destination for locals, students, clubs, and visitors from around the world, with rotating exhibits, period artifacts, stories, and vintage films.

The 58 offers a unique waterfront assemblage of 19th century brick and beam warehouses, providing the perfect opportunity for creating a spectacular wedding or other memorable event in downtown Portland. Until renovations began in 2018, 58 Fore offered Portland’s most popular event spaces: industrial elegance just steps from the Old Port. When 58 Fore reopens in 2023, guests will be welcomed with the same gritty authenticity that made the facilities so popular, but now with first-class amenities, situated within a dynamic urban redevelopment.

Portland Foreside

A place central to the Portland experience since the 1840s. Once home to the city’s largest factory complex where engineers, skilled tradesmen and laborers turned raw pig iron into steam locomotives and ship propulsion systems, today the site is being reimagined for the 21st Century, creating a whole new neighborhood for Portlanders to live, work and recreate. With over 600 housing units ranging from studio and one-bedroom apartments to one, two and three-bedroom condominiums, to office space, hospitality and over 80 retail locations, including a new public market, the Portland Foreside seeks to seamlessly integrate with the other neighborhoods in Portland to add value and diversity to the Portland community.

58 Fore

58 Fore is the historic heart of Portland Foreside, the city’s newest waterfront neighborhood. Reimagined for the 21st century, the former industrial manufacturing buildings will house a new public market focused on showcasing and nurturing Maine’s food and beverage entrepreneurs. The mission driven market will curate and assist with educating start-up businesses with the marketing, accounting and management tools they need to be successful while at the same time creating a low-barrier to entry space for new businesses to gain their footing.

Fore Points Marina is a state-of-the art, 150 slip marina in a protected safe harbor with sweeping views of Casco Bay. Located just steps away from Portland’s thriving Old Port District, with a nationally recognized culinary and beverage scene, boutique shops, and a plethora of activities.
